Every year, 7.4 million people die from cancer, and it is the leading cause of death worldwide.
There is hope, as more than 30% of cancer can be prevented through a healthy diet, physical activity and exercise, and not smoking or using tobacco products. Using sunscreen and limiting time outdoors in the sun is a good way to protect from skin cancer.
Furthermore, nearly a third of cancers can be cured from early detection and proper treatment.
Schedule regular checkups with your doctor and be candid about any type of cancer that runs in your family history. If not for yourself, do it for your loved ones.
